Chelmsford Stakes 2012 – Nominations Announced

September 3rd, 2012

Nominations have been released for the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes, which is set to run at Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday September 8, 2012.

Included in the 2012 Chelmsford Stakes nominations is All Too Hard, who failed to place in the Group 3 The Run To The Rose last weekend.

The three-year-old finished fifth of six runners in the field behind a clasy Pierro, who won his seventh staright race start.

Prior to that, Pierro finished third in the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes on August 18.

The Casino Price colt will be making his way towards the $1 million Golden Rose on September 15, 2012.

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes is confident the colt will appreciate the 1,600 metre distance of the 2012 Chelmsford Stakes.

“He has pulled up well and is screaming for the extra ground,” Hawkes said.

“He will also be much better suited in a race with genuine speed in it.”

All Too Hard has won three of his six race starts and has earned more than $430,000 in prize money.

Secret Admirer is also included in the 2012 Chelmsford Stakes nominations.

The five-year-old mare placed a promising second in the Group 2 Warwick Stakes last start in her 2012 spring debut.

Secret Admirer has won three of her 17 race starts and has earned more than $1.11 million in prize money.

Rangirangdoo and Lights Of Heaven are also included in the 2012 Chelmsford Stakes nominations.
