Chelmsford Stakes 2012

Nominations have been released for the 2011 Chelmsford Stakes that will run this Saturday September 3, 2011, at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.

20 horses have nominated to be a part of the 20-horse capacity field, including Chris Waller’s My Kingdom Of Fife.

My Kingdom Of Fife will be resuming in the Chelmsford Stakes 2011 after taking a three month long spell following his second in the Group 1 Doomben Cup on May 21, 2011.

The six-year-old won his first-up start in the Group 3 Doncaster Mile Prelude last preparation and Waller believes he is on song to do so again.

“I’d say he’s at the same level of fitness now as he was going into the Doncaster Prelude,” Waller said.

Following his 2011 Chelmsford Stakes run, My Kingdom Of Fife is set to travel to Melbourne to contend many of the spring’s feature races, such as the $3 million Cox Plate 2011.

“I’d like to get him to Melbourne sooner rather than later but a lot hinges on the weather,” Waller said.

“I’m still not sure what his grand finale is this spring.

“The Cox Plate is still a big option.”

Also included in the 2011 Chelmsford Stakes nominations are Maluckyday, Hawk Island, Centennial Park, Sacred Choice, Secret Admirer and Black Piranha.
